Customs made clear — most parcels have nothing to pay
The worst part of buying from abroad is the surprise: a parcel turns up and the courier demands VAT, duty and a handling fee before they'll hand it over. PostUK's route takes most of that away. Because we forward from Northern Ireland — inside the EU single market for goods — most parcels reach Ireland and the EU with no EU customs charge on delivery.
Where a customs duty or VAT does apply (most often on clothing and footwear), it's collected from the recipient by the courier on delivery and is the recipient's responsibility — separate from PostUK's forwarding fees. You always see your PostUK cost upfront, with no guesswork at checkout.
We remove bulky packaging to cut your cost
International shipping is usually priced on volumetric (dimensional) weight, not just how heavy your parcel is. A half-empty box of trainers or a bulky retailer carton can cost far more to ship than the items inside actually weigh.
On request, we remove oversized boxes and excess packaging and repack your items more compactly. A smaller parcel means a lower volumetric weight — and a lower forwarding price. Combine it with consolidation and the savings add up fast.
